The Process
When you contact Novus Behavioral Health to make an appointment we will ask you for your insurance information. Here's what happens next:
-
Our Client Care Coordinator (CCC) will look up your information with your insurance company.
-
Insurance carrier will allow us to verify your benefits. This includes: your deductible amount, how much you have paid toward your deductible this year & how much your copay amount is.
-
With this information and our contracted rate with your insurance carrier our CCC will provide you with an estimate of your cost. In some cases, all you have to pay is the copay; in other cases you will need to pay the full amount of evaluation. You will receive a text message with this information prior to your appointment
FAQ's
-
When I go to my PCP they usually send me a bill. Why do you collect payment before billing my insurance company?
-
Honestly, because people aren't always able to pay their bills. Medical debt is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in America - 67% of cases!! We are a small, independent practice. Our primary purpose is to provide the best care to the greatest number of patients possible. In order to fulfill our purpose, we must remain open. In order to remain open, we have to pay our staff & our bills. In order to meet these obligations, we must collect payment.
-
-
Do you offer sliding scale?
-
Yes, in some instances we can work with you to reduce the burden of cost. We have a specific number of spots available for this. You can email our CCC to find out if we have any sliding scale spots available. You will need to fill out an application & we will let you know if you qualify once it has been submitted. If you are unable to afford care, there are other options available to you. Here are some links:
